As a community bank, we're committed to public service and we've made it our business to be on top of and involved in what’s happening locally. It's a tradition Peoples Bank employees have embraced for over 100 years. There’s a need in every community we serve, and from that, Our Giving Philosophy was born.
Every day we put our customers first by delivering You First Banking. With the same dedication, we put our communities first by supporting the many organizations that approach us for assistance through sponsorships, donations and volunteering.

Peoples Bank supports a wide variety of community activities through in-kind contributions and financial support. In 2019, we provided assistance to 316 community groups for projects supporting youth activities, housing, health care, education, and the arts – just to name a few.
Community First
Community First, the Bank's employee charitable and social committee, is in its 27th year of fundraising. Since its inception in 1993, the Committee has raised every donation internally, reflecting Peoples Bank employees' commitment to dig deep and make a dedicated effort to improve the quality of life in the communities in which we work and live.
In 2019, through generous employee donations and matching funds from the Bank, Community First distributed more than $60,000 to benefit organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana and Porter, Haven House, Legacy Foundation, Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, Cancer Resource Center, Honor Flight and Opportunity Enterprises.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Committee donated $18,651 to local Northwest Indiana and South Suburban Chicagoland nonprofit organizations over a six-month period through their Casual for a Cause initiative. The initiative was put into motion as a way to help local communities be more successful at a time when they needed it most.
